How Much Hosting is Enough?
When people look into hosting they are overwhelmed on how much space and bandwidth is available and at the prices. This leads to confusion for how much one needs and many times people will over spend on the actual hosting they really need.
Let us take a step back and see how much you actually need of both for your hosting needs. No longer will you get tied into a package that is more than you need.
The first thing you need to do is to know how big your site is going to be. It will amaze you on how small your first site actually is. Many people get caught up in the graphics and video you think is best for your site. But be realistic in web hosting first making those are harder than you can imagine and second you don’t want to make your website so big it is hard for people to download. Do not forget that everyone does not have fast access making it hard to load for many. Your website at biggest will probably be under 500k. This let you purchase web space in line with your needs.
Now think of how many visitors you are going to get. A goal of 1,000 visitors would be plenty. This can be hard but done if you catch a break on the way. So if you have a 1,000 people a month visiting your site at 500k you can figure out the bandwidth you need for your web hosting.
I’m assuming it is a lot less than you ever imagined. You do not need to purchase larger packages when starting off. Purchase enough to get started and to have some expansion and then upgrade your web hosting when the time is right.
